Emmanuel Zervos, MD

Dr. Zervos is Professor and Chief of Surgical Oncology at East Carolina University / Vidant Medical Center, a 1,000 bed academic tertiary care hospital in rural eastern North Carolina. Dr. Zervos obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his general surgery training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed his surgical oncology fellowship at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He began his academic career at USF and Moffitt Cancer Center where he was principal investigator on several pivotal pancreatic cancer clinical trials including an NCI funded investigator initiated trial exploring the role of immunotherapy in patients with locally advanced and low volume metastatic pancreatic cancer. He has led the division of surgical oncology at ECU since 2007 where he has continued to explore novel approaches to the treatment of pancreatic cancer both in the laboratory and the clinical setting. He brings almost 25 years of knowledge and expertise gained from the management of thousands of pancreatic cancer patients to the RenovoRx Scientific Advisory Board.
